Dahai Zhao' 37th comments on TV during the Pandemic: There is no need for the public to panic over the outbreak in Beijing's Xinfadi market

Dahai Zhao, a doctoral supervisor at School of International and Public Affairs of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Executive Director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University-Yale University Joint Research Center for Health Policy, has been interviewed by CGTN for the 22th time (the 37th time by CGTN / ShanghaiTV) since the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 14, 2020, Zhao commented on the COVID-19 outbreak in Beijing's Xinfadi market on “China 24”.

Anchor: Considering the outbreak at Xinfadi Market in Beijing, how would you advise those who want to eat out?

Zhao: I believe the general situation is safe when people eat out in the whole China. During the last more than 1 month, with more and more public areas and restaurants are open, no serious outbreaks have been found in the whole China. Considering the pandemic of COVID-19 abroad is still very serious, and there are lots of people and cargo exchanges between China and abroad, the small-cluster infections or local outbreak of COVID-19 is inevitable. Local governments, restaurants, and public areas, can not relax the guard on precautious against COVID-19. Local governments may consider taking measures to push all public area workers and staff such as restaurant workers to take nucleic acid tests routinely. Further, people also do not relax the guard. When they eat in restaurants, please keep the social distance. When they go to the densely populated area, they should wear face masks are keep social distances.
