上海交通大学国际与公共事务学院博士生导师、上海交通大学-耶鲁大学卫生政策联合研究中心执行主任赵大海，自新冠肺炎疫情以来第十次接受中央电视台直播采访，也是第十六次接受央视/上视直播采访。在2020年3月19日中午12点的中央电视台英语频道CGTN《环球瞭望》节目，赵大海就有关美国总统特朗普的“中国病毒”言论及其影响进行了评论。现将主要内容翻译并摘录如下。
主持人：正如我们在报告中提到的，希拉里·克林顿说："特朗普正在诉诸种族主义言论，以转移人们对他未能认真对待冠状病毒的注意力"。你认为是这样吗？
赵大海：是的，我也这么认为。首先，COVID-19，世卫组织对该病毒命名的正式名称，已被世界上任何国家完全认可。这是病毒的唯一名称。其次，特朗普总统在他的推特上称这种病毒为"中国病毒"，我同意希拉里·克林顿所说的话。考虑到新冠肺炎在两天内已经蒸发了美国大约两百万亿美元的股市价值，特朗普所说的实际上是为了转移人们对他早期没有严肃对待新冠肺炎疫情防控而导致美国民众大恐慌的注意力。第三，新冠肺炎的来源尚不明确，有待于科学的验证。即使来源被确认是从中国开始的，病毒的名字也不能被称为中国病毒。病毒与种族或国家没有关系，这是世界上每个人都知道的。
主持人：美国总统发表这样评论，这对旅美亚裔社区和华人来说有多危险？他们该如何反击呢？
赵大海：当然，特朗普总统的这句话必然对美国数百万人产生巨大影响。这将使旅美华人非常危险。特别是，当越来越多的美国人恐慌情绪增加时，一些人可能会把新冠肺炎归咎于旅美华人，从而对旅美华人进行责难。对于生活在美国的中国人，希望他们与此作斗争，为此争取正义，利用社交媒体来发出他们的呼吁。此外，中国政府、世界卫生组织和全世界都会与为正义而斗争者站在一起。

Dahai Zhao commented on US President Donald Trump's "Chinese Virus" comment on Global Watch on March 19, 2020.
Anchor: As we mentioned in the report, Hillary Clinton says "Trump is resorting to racist rhetoric to distract from his failures to take coronavirus seriously". What's your view?
Zhao: First, COVID-19, the official name of the virus named by WHO has been fully recognized by any country in the world. This is the only name of the virus. Second, In terms of President Trump called the virus as “the Chinese Virus ” on his twitter, I agree with What Hilary Clinton said. Considering the COVID-19 has wiped out about $2 trillion in US stock market value in two days, what Trump said is really to distract from his failures to take the coronavirus seriously early on to escape the public panic in the US. Third, the source is the COVID-19 is unclear yet. It should be confirmed by the science. Even the source is confirmed from China in the future, the name can not be called Chinese virus. The virus is no relations with race, or country, everyone in the world knows it.
Anchor: A comment like this from a president who is followed by million in the US. How dangerous is this for the Asian American community and the Chinese living in the US and how should they fight it?
Zhao: Of course, what trump said must have a huge impact on millions of people in the US. It will make Chinese American people very dangerous situation. Particularly, when the panic is increasing among more and more American people, some people may attribute the virus into Chinese American. For Chinese who live in the US, please fight it, fight for justice, use social media to make your voices heard. Further, Chinese government, WHO, and all people in the world will be together anyone who fight for justice.
